Pastor's Biography

Our group prayer sessions are meant for remembering our loved ones and feeling a closer connection to the Lord. Lead by one of our ministers, you can take as active or as passive a role as you wish.

The purpose of the group prayer is to help you overcome any negative emotions and ultimately find peace in His words.

For your first few group prayers, we will assign you to a buddy who will help you in case you have any questions or need any additional support. Our community is built on trust, and you’re free to join any other activities at your own pace.

Pastor Carl E. Reeves

Brother Carl E. Reeves is honored to serve as the Pastor of Greater Mount Lily Missionary Baptist Church. A Pensacola native, he is the sixth child of the late Manuel and Thelma Grier Reeves. He is a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School (Class of 1980), Florida A&M University (1985), and a U.S. Air Force veteran (1993).

On the second Sunday of May 1996, at Saint John Divine Missionary Baptist Church, Brother Reeves surrendered to Christ, beginning a lifelong journey of faith and service. Under the guidance of Pastor Richard Lee Hines, Jr., and through extensive biblical and theological studies, he grew as a servant leader.

In answer to prayer, God led Brother Reeves to Greater Mount Lily on February 20, 2007, where he continues to shepherd the congregation with faith and dedication. Beyond the pulpit, he has served in various educational, civic, and community roles throughout Pensacola, Escambia County, and Florida.

Brother Reeves is blessed to share his life with his wife, Sister Thelma Lee Reeves. Together, they have a blended family of two sons, Wilmer and Untraey, and two grandchildren, Jalaya and Quajon.

A true man of God, Brother Reeves lives by the words: "To live is Christ, and to die is gain."

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth! - Psalm 34:1 (KJV)
